I have been experimenting with making life casts and distorting them before casting for about a year now. Up until now they have been experiments to see what different results I could get. This is the first time I did a project using this method of working. The idea of the project was to have someone stand in a well known classical art pose and then use alginate to mold certain sections of their body and then lay it down without a mother mold and make plaster casts of it. This is nothing more than creating my own aesthetic while paying some sort of tribute to the old masters. I hope for this to evolve into a series.
